Churches that have sunday school programs for children who have special needs
If you have a loved one with special needs, Tallowood Treasures Classes are for those whose different abilities are celebrated and accommodated as they learn about God. For those able to attend a typical Sunday School class but need a little help to do so, they provide a Buddy to accompany them to class. A trained staff member is on duty to help with medical or personal care needs.
Cypress United Methodist Church
LOL stands for “Love Out Loud” which is our special needs ministry at Cypress United Methodist Church. LOL provides our friends with special needs Sunday school classes as well as an activity night which is hosted by our Youth PATH Ministry one Sunday night a month.
Special Blessings at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church provides a nurturing and supportive environment to children with special needs. By doing so both the children and their parents are able to grow in their faith in God while experiencing the redeeming love of Jesus Christ through education, fellowship, music, outreach, prayer, stewardship, and worship. Special Blessings programs include Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, monthly respite events, parent support group, and more. “The JOY Ministry” empowers the special needs population by sharing the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. You are invited to witness the activity of the Holy Spirit throughout the halls of The JOY Place. We’ve adapted Sunday school and worship to meet the needs of students attending. All ages and abilities are welcomed. “The Lord has done great things for us, and our hearts are filled with JOY.” – Psalms 126:3
All ages | Sunday School, 9:30-10:30am, CE 120 and 125
This ministry embraces children with special needs and provides a warm and welcoming place for them to attend Sunday School, fellowship with each other, and hear God’s word. WinGS is staffed with a program coordinator and a team of volunteers (“Buddies”) who work one-on-one with each child. All children complete a registration form in advance of admission to the program so specific needs can be met. For more information about this program and special events, contact Stephanie Fregia at 713.620.6431
